2017 Eclipse Activities
Film Screening: Pitch Black
Join us for a free screening of Pitch Black. On April 11, the Museum of Science Fiction and American University will screen the film, Pitch Black starring Vin Diesel. Before the film, Astrophysicist Dr. Sten Odenwald from the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will discuss the film's use of an eclipse involving multiple planets and three suns.
Log line: When their ship crashes on an unexplored planet, the survivors soon discover that this planet that is normally always in sunlight is heading for a prolonged eclipse that will bring out deadly nocturnal creatures. Will a prison convict (Vin Diesel) being transported on the ship end up being the one man who can lead the survivors off the planet?
